The 2027 gran fondo route puts climbing first

The announced Haute-Savoie Gran Fondo course pairs 115 km with 3,256 metres of climbing. Our read: the elevation profile deserves more attention than the headline distance.

The UCI Gran Fondo World Series lists the event for 24 August 2027, from Thônes to La Clusaz. The route includes the Col de la Colombière and a gravel section on the Plateau des Glières. Treat the published course as an early planning reference and check the organiser’s updates before committing.

Rosa Klöser retained her Alentejo Gravel title with a solo win, while Filipe Francisco took the men’s race in a three-rider sprint. Our takeaway: the same gravel course can reward very different ways of racing.

The series report puts Klöser more than eleven minutes ahead of runner-up Sarah Lange. Francisco finished ahead of Oliver Godfroid and Daan Grosemans on the 119.2 km course. That contrast is the interesting part of this result: separation in one race, a close finish in the other.

Garmin says voice-command performance depends on riding conditions and supports selected languages. Voice messaging also needs a connected smartphone. We have not tested the device, so this is a look at the announcement rather than a recommendation to upgrade.
